English 3, Post 8 (FINAL), 'Tell us about a subject you enjoy studying'

In my half semester of university added to the almost 2 and a half years of online teaching I have enjoyed studying various topics and topics, I think I undoubtedly enjoyed studying for the field of "Fisiología de Sistemas", which was a field where we were taught the functioning of the organism system by system, this allowed us to realize how the systems of our organism interacted and how things like a faint or a muscular problem triggered responses in all systems. I enjoyed it since the way to evaluate the branch was through clinical cases, so they gave us real situations such as hemorrhages or fevers and I had to explain the event from biology, finally that helped me a lot to understand the functioning of the things at the level of the human body. Before studying it, I was a little predisposed not to enjoy the bouquet since it came from rendering its predecessor bouquet "Fisiología celular" that explained how everything works but at very small and not very applica...

English 3, Post 7, Choice of Two Topics

To be completely honest, the choice of topic complicated me a bit since I do not know a website related to my career that generates special intrigue related to my career and I do not have a reference in my specialty, so I was forced to instruct me in the history of chemistry and pharmacy, a situation for which I encourage myself to talk about not one, but 3 people, their names are: Federico Philippi, Ignacio Domeyko and José Bustillos. The reason for my admiration is that they were teachers of what would later become the first generation of pharmaceutical students in Chile around 1945. His contribution was to train students in a prehistoric chemist and pharmacy that received the name of "pharmacy class", they were teachers who instructed chemistry to that first generation of pharmacists. Regarding their biographies, it was difficult for me to find detailed information, for sure they were educated people in the area of science and medicine who worked for the University of Ch...

English 3, Post 6, 'How can your major make the world a better place'

I believe that like every health career my specialty has a role to play for the rest of society, I consider that in Chile the cost of medicines is well above what the common people can pay, so It is up to me and my fellow racers to see how we can change this from here to the future. I see myself within this context working in the public health system, to try to deliver the best quality of care in, for example, a cesfam. At the same time, I consider that like all professions, pharmaceutical chemists have a pending commitment to the environment, so that we can benefit the world with actions such as taking care of the waste that our industry produces, which in many cases contribute to the contamination. In fact, this year a study was revealed that showed the concentration of different drugs and hormones that were found in the waters that would later be processed. The study emphasized that these treatment plants were not prepared to eliminate components of the pharmaceutical industry, so r...

English 3, Post 5, 'A photo and its story'

Imagen
For this blog I wanted to give a more humorous tone to the blog. This photo was taken in 2015, in the soccer match between Chile and Uruguay for the quarterfinals of the “Copa América” . I could describe what is observed in the photo but I am one of the people who believes that words are sometimes not necessary. I like this image because as simple as it may seem, it reflects a fact that for years had played against Chile, historically other countries abused cheating and "viveza" as well as corruption to win soccer games. We always had to be on the losing side and this photo shows how history smiled at us for once. Thanks to what happened in the image, the Uruguayan player attacked the Chilean player, which the referee punished with a red card, with the passing of the minutes Chile would achieve thanks to being with one more a triumph that would end up crowning him as champion of America for the first time in its soccer history. English 3, Post 4, 'A Meal or Food you really like'

Imagen
Writing about a food that I really like is quite easy for me since within the foods that I like, the "Bistec a lo pobre" wins with a lot but a lot of advantage. It is a dish consisting of meat, French fries, onion and fried eggs, I can't say why I like it so much, I just know that since I can remember it is my favorite food, unfortunately it is not very nutritious since it contains many fried foods, in addition to I always accompany the food with a glass of drink or beer, and a little bread to mix with the egg always improves the flavor. For this food to be 100% perfect, the meat must be 3/4, this means that it must be cooked until it is ready on the surface but remains red in the middle. Thank you for reading.

English 3, Post 3, 'Your Favourite piece of technology'

My favorite technology is the radio, this is an instrument by which different stations transmit audio from a certain place to any radio that tunes to a certain frequency. I have had a radio all my life, I use it every day in the morning to keep myself informed or to listen to music in the afternoons, I like it because the conversation programs make me feel accompanied when I am alone in some place, it also allows me listen to the games of my favorite team. I can't imagine not having a radio since it is the means by which I find out and listen to the soccer games of colo-colo⚽, since it is not possible for me to buy the soccer channel  😰😰. I recommend using it at any time as a company or to know about current events. Thank you for reading.

English 3, Post 2, 'Why did I choose my major (study program)?'

When I was little I was very interested in working as a gardener, I could not explain why, I suppose it was entertaining to go through the lawn mower. When I grew up my love for the humanist side awoke, at the time of applying I had psychology, law and political science in mind. But studying for 4 tests was difficult for me, so I decided not to take the history test and therefore opt for my current career in chemistry and pharmacy since this specialty is very well seen for the future. My experience at the university, the truth is that it has not been much, since within months of entering there was a 2-month stoppage, then winter holidays and when I returned to classes a few weeks later a social outbreak, then came the pandemic and in this way I have lived a large part of my university teaching from my home :(. So I hope in the coming years to live the experiences that I have not had in university. Thank you for reading.
